Foundit Parent and Child Safety Notice
Foundit turns hiding and finding objects into a family game. An adult must set up and supervise every hunt.
This notice covers Foundit during its Friends & Family testing phase.
Effective date: August 23, 2026
For adults
Before the hunt
- Use soft, age-appropriate objects.
- Choose places the child already has permission to enter.
- Keep items away from streets, vehicles, pools, stairs, windows, heights, appliances, outlets, cords, chemicals, medicines, weapons, tools, choking hazards, pets, and breakable or heavy objects.
- Never require climbing, running into traffic, opening locked storage, moving furniture, or entering a stranger's property.
- Check the area for allergies, weather, heat, water, and other hazards.
- Review every clue and every AI-suggested name before starting.
- Do not include addresses, school details, schedules, access codes, private papers, faces, or other identifying information in photos or clues.
During the hunt
- Keep the child within sight or use supervision appropriate to the child's age and abilities.
- Stop immediately if conditions become unsafe or the child is uncomfortable.
- Foundit is not a substitute for supervision and does not monitor a child's location.
- Do not use the game while driving or in a place where device use is unsafe.
Sharing with another device
- Share only with a trusted adult or family member.
- A share contains the hidden-item photos, hunt/item names, and clues needed to play.
- The QR code/link contains an opaque code, but anyone who receives a valid code may be able to import the hunt before it expires or is revoked.
- Review photos for identifying details before sharing.
- Delete the share when it is no longer needed.
- Shared server copies expire automatically within 30 days through a scheduled and verified deletion process.
For kids
- Play only with a grown-up's permission.
- Stay in the places your grown-up says are safe.
- Never climb, go near a street or water, touch medicine or tools, or enter a locked/private place.
- If a clue feels unsafe or confusing, stop and ask a grown-up.
- Do not photograph people, addresses, private papers, or screens.
- Do not send a hunt code to anyone without asking a grown-up.
Photos and privacy
Photos taken to confirm a found item are designed to stay on the device. An adult-selected hidden-item photo can be sent for optional AI naming. Hidden-item photos are uploaded only when an adult deliberately creates a cross-device share.
The adult arithmetic gate helps prevent accidental sharing, but it does not prove legal identity or replace any parental consent required by law.
